Frequently Asked Questions

What is the benefit of taking a COVID-19 Antibody Test?

A COVID-19 Antibody Test can help identify if you have been infected with COVID-19 (Coronavirus).
The U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) states that "The tests detect the presence of antibodies in the blood – if antibodies are present, that indicates that the person has been exposed to the virus and developed antibodies against it, which may mean that person has at least some immunity to the coronavirus."

What is the difference between an Antibody Test and a COVID-19 test?

An antibody test checks for the presence of antibodies which are the body's immune response to the infection caused by the virus. It may help identify people who may have been exposed to the SARS-CoV-2 virus or have recovered from the COVID-19 infection.

We do not offer the COVID-19 test, which detects the virus itself and is used for those who recently started having symptoms.

Can I take the Antibody Test even if I never had any symptoms?

Yes, an Antibody Test can help indicate if you have been infected with the COVID-19 (Coronavirus) by detecting antibodies in your system, even if you never had any symptoms.

According to the CDC, the majority of infected people in the United States may never display any symptoms. Another reason for some of our patients to get tested is because they may have been in contact with someone who was potentially exposed.

Who can take an Antibody Test?

You can take an Antibody Test if you have never had symptoms of COVID-19.

If you have had symptoms of COVID-19, you must wait a minimum of 7 days since the start of your symptoms to take an Antibody Test. Please check with your healthcare provider or the CDC for a full list of COVID-19 symptoms.

How long will it take to receive my results?

It will take 2-3 business days to receive your tests results. You will receive an email with instructions on how to access and interpret your test results on the lab's secure portal.

What are the differences between your test and other tests offered?

Unlike most testing sites, which require you to commute and wait in line, one of our certified healthcare professionals will come to you, so you don't have to leave the comfort and safety of your home. All our healthcare providers wear personal protective equipment for your safety.

Our test is performed by a LabCorp lab using a SARS-COV-2 IgG antibody immunoassay test with a sensitivity of 99.5%.

How does this work with my health insurance?

Our service includes in-home blood sample collection and safe transport to a LabCorp lab.  We provide you a receipt of your payment, so you can submit it to your insurance for reimbursement. Major US insurance providers may reimburse some or all of this cost, but coverage may vary depending on your insurance provider and healthcare plan.

Do your healthcare providers wear personal protective equipment (PPE)?

Yes, all of our medical staff wear PPE, including masks and gloves.

All patients are required to wear a mask at all times to protect our staff.
